Back on March 9, Straight No Chaser first returned to The Brunswick, Hove since our packed out gig there in December, when we released our CD Navigation. I apologise for my delay in posting, but I’ve posted before we move into April!
Once again the band feature new music, this time from the imagination of our pianist, David Beebee. For those that missed our performance of David’s “FELA”, a rhythmic african groove (6/8 compound feel, for those musos out there), we’re all keen to play it again — and let’s hope David will write some more!
Susannah Alce entertained us all with her delightful lyrics to the vocal numbers. Always a joy to have sing with the band and we look forward to welcoming her back soon.
Our next performance will be in The Emporium, London Road, Brighton in the afternoon of Sunday, 13 April (2 pm to 5 pm). This is not only a new venue for us, but also a new time of day. We hope to see you there — London Road car park is only a few steps away! We’re next back at The Brunswick during the Brighton Festival on Sunday, 11 May.
